    Default Braxton Hicks

This is my first pregnancy so I'm unsure on a lot of things.
Can anyone describe what Braxton hicks feels like?
I'm 35 weeks on Saturday and have been getting a few painful sharp feelings in mg pelvic area but also s little higher up.
I've noticed I also have periods of time when my belly goes really hard and looks like half of bubs is sticking out to one side.

When your belly goes hard and you can spot the shape of your baby clearly, you're having a Braxton Hicks. It is an involuntary clenching of your uterus and feels quite tight. They're more uncomfortable than painful...wouldn't say I enjoy them. They seem to be more noticeable in subsequent pregnancies. I get them a lot when changing position - laying down or standing up. Sometimes the pressure gives me the urge to pee.

I agree definitely more uncomfortable. I woke up a couple of nights ago with it and felt like I had to pee really bad but found it hard to walk it was that uncomfortable.

Exactly! I find them at once uncomfortable, but at the same time kind of amazing...my little secret reminder that my body's getting ready to do this amazing thing and soon I'll have this new little person in my life.

Sounds exactly like my experience too.
You suddenly realise that your whole uterus is rock hard.
I only find it a bit painful if i move too fast or laugh really hard when its happening.

I get the ones like described above, but I only really notice them if I look at or feel my stomach. I also get 'period' pain, which I assume is Braxton hicks too (first pregnancy also). Really low down and feels exactly like period pain, although probably not as bad. It's not overly painful but does hurt a bit. I get excited when it happens and hope it means baby will be here very soon!

Yep I get the same ones. My first one I thought it was gas before it went and I realised what it was! I agree they're more uncomfortable than painful.
