Default First cycle of IUI - any success?

    Hello there ladies,

Im new to this forum, but I have been reading endless threads in the last 2 years of ttc.

I'm 28 and have PCOS,i dont always ovulate. My husband is healthy and now has healthy sperm (origin analysis wasn't good but FS believes it was due to him having the flu at the time, several acupuncture treatments got his sperm in tip top shape in a very short amount of time). I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous relationship and fell pregnant at 22 shortly after PCOS diagnosis.

we have tried 2 cycles of clomid, I had a hycosy which was clear and now starting first cycle of stimulated IUI. 50mlu Puregon.

I have also been doing acupuncture religiously since October 2012 (which got me ovulating naturally).

I would like to hear any success stories about IUI. I was told i have a higher then average chance (normally 16% and I have 33%) but im not putting all my eggs (figuratively speaking) in one basket as we have had so many disappointments in our journey so far.

looking forward to hear from people in my shoes and those who have been successful .

Yes, first time but it was ectopic. I then had my left tube removed, therefore it was a waste of $ trying IUI again so we did IVF.
    Good luck.

Thanks! I'm sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. I had an ectopic miscarriage last year which formed a haemorrhaged cyst, now that ovary is scarred. But i have since had a hycosy done and the tubes arent blocked so the chance of ectopic is lower....but then again who knows what could happen.

Good luck on your IVF journey.

Thank you all for your replies!

i did my first injection yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought. It stung for a while afterwards.

its a little scarey as I had to start injections while overseas in China. Will be back home in time for ultrasounds and bloods. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

Congrats to all of you that have been successful in your fertility journey. To all that are in the same boat as me...baby dust to you!

    Hi Mplum,

I fell pregnant on my first IUI cycle with clomid, that ended up being a blighted ovum. I then fell pregnant on our second cycle again with clomid and he is now 4yrs old.

    Goodluck with your cycle
