i love marinated chicken wings and mini drumsticks but will not eat or touch ones that still have feathers on them. DH thinks its weird but surely im not the only one?

Can't you just pluck them off before you marinate them?

Call me a hippie....and you wouldn't be the first lol... But I feel like its a waste to throw it out simply for a few feathers...

    Like they died for nothing.

I'm with you Missie Mack! I don't really even like meat that is still on the bone. Or chops with that gross bit of circle bone in them (spew!)
Feathers would be waaaaayy too much for me

haha I guess I'm pretty comfortable with the idea that the drumsticks started as a bird if you know what I mean? No biggie, just some people don't like to really think too much about the fact that their meat started as an animal because it makes them feel a bit funny about eating it, whereas I've seen chickens turned from live birds into dinner so feathers are just a part of that process and don't gross me out.

I just pick them off and keep munching maybe it's just because I'm such a guts and hate to miss an opportunity to eat

I'm with you OP! I actually don't eat them now after having to cook them for myself and finding the hairs? Sooo off putting. Also will not eat any chicken with skin or bones for the same 'too real' reason! Yuck!
My dad thinks I need a lesson in reality and tells a lot of 'when I was a kid' stories in regards to this. Of course he's right but still...gross! I'd rather become a vegetarian again!

sometimes i marinate them myself other times i buy them already marinated. I could not bring myself to pluck the bits i see... Hell i hate touching raw meats in general (yay for gloves)! I know they dont go to waste as DH will still eat them. Its just all too much for me to handle. Like wise i love fish but no fraking way will i eat a whole cooked fish that has its head etc still attached its just all too much for me.

Im glad im not the only one when it comes to the chicken feather on wings though. Now i can tell DH im not weird lol

yeah .. the feathers creep me out *shudder* despite knowing full well that its a chicken .. lol

I wont marinate wings for that reason - I marinate breast meat .. lol

Even when i'm out and about - I'll steer clear of marinated wings because I've found feathers at buffets etc too .. blergh
