I bought Velcro because its easier for newborns and middle of the night. Once it become ineffective i'm planning to unpick it and change to snaps. I already have Cam snaps pliers which cost $13 and a huge colour stash of snaps too. They are really cheap and great for so many things if u can sew.
First thing we did was replace the broken snaps on our motorbike helmets.

I read somewhere that velcro was better for smaller babies as the snaps don't fit bub as well... Anyone have this issue?

I find you get a better fit with Velcro, but we use mainly snaps as the velcro just wears so easily. Also i found on some nappies, the velcro can rub on the skin. I thought snaps might prevent dd taking her nappies off but...nope. I think it deters for a few more months than the Velcro does though
