Default What's your favourite parenting book?

I'm searching for a good overall parenting book for children aged 3 years through to late primary school. Does anyone have any suggestions? A couple of books I have come across on the web are 'Every Parent' by Matthew Sanders and 'Heart to Heart Parenting' by Robin Gillies - anyone heard of these? Any good? I feel like I'm being challenged by my children, aged almost 4 and 8, all the time and it's wearing me down. So I'm looking for a book that'll give me some overall advice to refresh of my parenting skills if that makes sense, even if i's just to know that I'm on the right track and doing the right thing.

I love parenting books and have read literally hundreds of them.

Heart to heart parenting is good but my favorite by far is "peaceful parent, happy kids" by dr Laura markham. Such an incredibly wonderful, pragmatic, inspiring book!

    I also love

    -parenting Effectiveness training

-how to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk

    - Playful parenting

They're all incredibly practical, research-based and will transform how you interact with your children.

Thanks Wrena, a great list to check out! Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids looks like a definite read, as does How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk. Who knows maybe I'll even make my easy through your whole list! There are so many parenting books out there so it's great to get some feedback on what others have found useful and a good read.
