Default Molar pregnancy - still waiting for confirmation

    Hi ladies,

I know there are a few threads on this topic but they seem to be rather old.

I had a missed miscarriage at the end of Jan. After my D&C the testing revealed an abnormality and I was informed that I may have had a partial molar miscarriage.

The story goes, I went to my ob for my first appt. the scan performed in the office did not detect a hb so I was referred to Qld X-ray for an ultrasound which confirmed bub had passed a week earlier. Two days later (on the thurs) I had an appt at the EPAU at Mater Mothers (my phi had not kicked in for pregnancy yet). I was booked in for a D&C on the Monday. All went normally. They called the next Monday for my one week check up and asked if I could come in later that week. I couldn't so she gave me some information over the phone and explained that the results showed an abnormality and it may be a partial molar pregnancy. She also advised that the tissue would be sent for further chromosome testing which could take 8 weeks for the results to come back. In the mean time I would need to have weekly blood tests to make sure my hcg levels were dropping.

So I have now had my fifth blood test and my hcg is still not zero. Results have been 576, 201, 63, 30, 15. It seems like it is taking forever to get back to zero and for the chromosome tests to come back. I am not good at waiting at the best of times, do this is a real nightmare for me. How have the ladies who have been through this managed?

    Thank you all
