    Smile Am I pregnant?

Please bare with me, I am totally new to this site and haven't even learnt all the acronyms yet!

I am 34 y.o. and have been TTC for the past 8 months. After 7 months of disappointment, we decided to relax a bit last month and just enjoy ourselves a little, get our health/weight in check etc.

I am now 7 days late on a 30 day cycle. Looking back, there's only one possible day we 'might' have conceived - day 22. I'm not even entirely sure if I was ovulating then, as I wasn't looking for the usual signs - but it seems a bit late?

I know this might seems like a silly question, but could I be pregnant? I've done 3 pregnancy tests, and they've all said 'not pregnant'...I'm so confused!

Alternatively, it guess my diet could cause me to be late (VLCD)....but I've done the same diet before and it's not affected my period. Please note, I've up-ed my cals while I try and figure this out.

I would love, love, love any advice/thoughts from the Bub Hub community. I don't want to get my hopes up again (I'm sure many of you know the disappointment each month when your period does come)...and I just wish I knew for sure either way what was happening!

Thanks so much everyone! I look forward to seeing your replies

Hi Allymumtobe...I've used First Response tests (not digital) - I had read they were supposed to be pretty good?

Thanks and good luck to you too, LowAMHonly25yo! LOL FX for UTD. WTF? (So confusing!)

They are good they pick up levels pretty early but both my first tests took over an hour to show a result and a few days for a real positive. Fingers crossed!

An hour! Oh my gosh..that must have felt like an eternity. And thank you - I would cross my toes too, if I could still walk around like that!

Honestly if your period is 7 days late the line should be pretty dark. I mean stranger things have happened, but I would have thought it was unlikely if the test says no. I will keep my fingers crossed for you though!

Have you considered seeing a fertility specialist? After 6 months of trying I would probably head that way.

    Hi Wise Enough,

I saw my GP who said as I am under 35 y.o. I should be patient, and not to worry until we had been trying 'at least a year'. A year seems like such a long time when I'm not a patient person by nature! (Gen X with Gen Y tendancies)?!

I dont mind so much if it takes another month or two, but I am finding it particularly frustrating at the moment, because I am neither pregnant, nor not-pregnant.

I would find a different GP. If you are over 30 and have been trying for 6 months then most fertility specialists would see you. They suggest 12 months trying for a healthy couple under 30.
