Default Rash around mouth After eggs

I have given ds 11m some banana pancakes before maybe at 10m and he loved it. Have egg on its own just in a pan a few times before and no problem.
A week ago I gave him some quiche and around his mouth went a bit puffed and red. It went down in an hour.
And I thought that was odd.. Was is the ham?
Today I gave him egg again just plain egg in a pan whisked around and he got red around the mouth again

Is this an allergy? Why wouldn't it have happened with egg before now? I'm now scared to give him anything with egg in it.
Anyone else had experience with it? He doesn't get grizzly with it just the rash is all I can see

Have him checked out- an allergy can occur at anytime, regardless of whether or not he was fine the previous few times. Egg allergy can be serious so tell your doc.

I would stop giving the egg. An allergy can develop over a period of time and progressively get worse. He's showing signs of a reaction so stop the egg. Maybe see your GP and get a referral to an allergy clinic for testing to check if he is allergic to other things...?

    All the best!

I agree - sounds like an allergy to me. My daughter has a cows milk allergy and her first reaction (anaphylactic!) was about two - three times after she had dairy - apparently that's what happens - your body needs to have the food or come into contact with the allergen ie a bee sting at least once to develop an allergy. Definitely stop any egg until you've spoken to your GP and a specialist if needs be. Good luck!

Our little miss has an egg allergy we found out or sure on Friday she now has an epipen on hand. She ate mayonnaise broke out in a hive like rash from head to toe and her throat was red and swelling. We were referred and got skin patch and blood tests done.

She too has had egg before in cakes etc but wasn't til the mayonnaise that it came to light. Avoid egg and get your little one allergy tested. Just like any other allergy it could be minor or severe.

With egg allergies most kids how out of it which is a positives thing to remind yourself

    Thanks monster
We are booked in to see a specialist soon. Such a wait to see them though!

I do miss the ease of throwing an egg in the pan.. Mixing it with rice and bam.lunch!
But I have been keeping him away from egg except in ingredients as my gp said. So I made meatballs and that used egg to combine and he seeeeemed fine.
But then he gets a tummy rash and runs his nose quite a bit some times and I really wonder if that's another allergy just can't pin point from what!

Never expected it coming from families with none at all. Hopefully he grows out of it if it really is the egg
