I swear by DHEA. I think it was what eventually got us over the line.

Pilbera us your fs serious about transferring 3 embryos???

What if all took or worse case some divided? 3 sounds excessive, 2 I guess but not 3. Apparently research shows that you have more success from average grade embryos.

chances - I think you misread Pilbara's post. I think her FS is suggesting transferring 2, 3 day embryo's. So only two embryo's will be transferred. I think I am reading it right?

Wow, thanks so much Ladies for your words of encouragement.
I am on DHEA - started a month ago so hopefully it will kick in by the time we do our next cycle. I think I will definitely try a day 3 transfer next time - a dish can never do what the body can no matter how good Genea claim their media is.
    Will keep you posted

Vetttc be patient with the DHEA. The optimum time for it to start working in the body is from around 5 months on, which is exactly the time we got both of our BFPs on it.

Just some thoughts... based on what you've said perhaps they could recheck DH sperm again.
From all I have read the egg has internal energy which keeps it growing until day 3. From Day 3 the actual embryo has to have it's own energy to keep growing- if it doesn't this is typically due to the sperm issues.
Perhaps it's worth asking about donor sperm?
Another road could be PGD- it's expensive but at least you only transfer genetically viable embryos.
Sorry to hear you are facing these setbacks. It really is heart wrenching it's it?

Hi fortitude , thanks for your suggestions. We tried one cycle with donor sperm and got worse fertilisation rates than with DH's sperm and BFN from 2 average blasties. We know DHs sperm is not great but whenever they did IMSI
They said there were lots of good spe
With no vacuoles and this time we did picsi and there were lots binding properly - of course at the end of the day no one can really say what the DNA quality of an egg or sperm is ... We only ever get 2 blastocysts if any so not enough to do PGD on we've been told as there aren't many to choose from anyway...
We may have to look at donor sperm again or even donor eggs - at present I think I will give the dhea a chance and try some 3 day transfers and then maybe saizen...

Vetttc I'm surprised they discouraged you from PGD. We were told to do CGH at day 3 (similiar to PGD) even though we only get 2 blasts at the most so that we could see if there were chromosomal abnormalities. I guess this was to basically tell me if I was wasting my time doing more IVF.
I would definitely give DHEA and anything else you think may help a chance before moving on to ED. You have to be totally happy with your decisions and if it doesn't feel right now, then don't do. People definitely do get BFP's after many cycles and trying new things.

Fortitude - I have not heard that if an embryo arrests after day 3 it is usually the result of sperm issues. I was always told it could be either sperm or egg, in my case it was definitely an egg issue. I'll have to research this a bit more.
