    Default Lump behind ear

I woke up this morning with a lump behind my ear (it is soft but painful sort of like when you glands swell in your throat with tonsillitis) No other signs or symptoms
Anyone got any ideas of what it is? How long would I wait before getting it check out

Totally normal I think. I saw the Dr about this for dd1. lymph nodes he said. dd2 has them there as well. They usually get bigger when they have a cold etc but generally I can still feel them when they aren't sick.

Medical intervention is extremely important to determine the course of treatment for a lump behind the ear. If the lump is painless, then there usually is no need for special continual treatment. However, if it is a painful and hard lump behind the ear that appears all of a sudden without any justifiable reason that consultation with a doctor becomes imperative.

You were right when u said 'like when your glands swell with tonsillitis'. It is most likely a gland/ node that is swelling from a local infection. Do u have a cut/ graze on your head on that side?? I'm not a doctor but if u are worried or if it continues yo give u pain u should see someone. But it is most likely nothing to worry about.

When I came down with a bad virus last year my lymph nodes all swells and got sore before I myself felt sick. Maybe they are trying to get on top of something. See a GP then if it doesn't go in a few days go again.

Sounds like your lymph nodes. I had what you're describing once and I made an immediate drs appointment. I was fine

Your body's probably fighting a virus. You don't need to be showing sick symptoms for your lymph nodes to be activated and become easily palpable.
