    I would be livid!!! My DS is 8 and has auditory and Sensory processing disorder, he also seeks movement so finds it hard to sit still and he will become distressed if he cannot move about regularly as it causes him physical pain to sit still. I had a very long meeting with the school regarding appropriate punishments for HIM. Things like writing lines/essays are not appropriate and things like lunch time detention again are not appropriate. Our mutual agreement was he had to walk with the yard duty teacher and pick up rubbish during lunch or recess as he was still being punished but the punishment was appropriate for his physical limitations. I would be seeing the principal as far as I'm concerned its a form of bullying what that teacher has put your DS through

    I agree that it sounds really over the top. Surely a more appropriate consequence would be for him to miss out on the prac and write the sentences in class instead.

    I think a 400 word essay on homework is ridiculous to issue to any grade as a punishment, especially a year 8!
