I have a peg hanging up on the inside of our pantry, I peg the bills in this in order of their due date. I open the pantry every day so I always know when one is coming up and they're not out on display for anyone to see.

Informally set them up for a future payment on our Internet banking then scan them and shred the original.

I open them straight away and put them on the fridge to remind me to pay them. Once they are paid I file them away
