    Default Bleeding.. Tmi

This is kind of embarrassing but I am wondering if anyone has ever had this happen?
I am 18w4d today. I have not been as "regular" as normal. This afternoon I went to the toilet to do my business. After when I wiped at the back I had a small amount of blood. I freaked out a little, but it did hurt a little so figured I pushed to hard..
When I went to the toilet next only for a wee I had a large amount of blood. I FREAKED out!! Tmi but hubby actually looked and he can actually see a small tear in my bottom.
Should I be worried? Do I need to see my doctor? Normally I wouldn't be worried but being pregnant everything makes in panic!!

Blood is one of those things that it may look like a huge amount, but it might not be (eg, was it just a bit on toilet paper? Or was it basically 'dripping' out? - gross sorry!) if you have a tear it's very possible the blood is just from the tear. Try to relax for tonight, and make an appointment to see your doc in the morning, just to be sure.!

It was on the toilet paper and a small amount in the toilet.
I have been to the toilet twice again and no more...
Any amount of blood just makes me go into such a panic!

I had this when pregnant with my DS. I just found I had pushed too hard if you know wht I mean. All was good in the end. When is your next check up? if you are still concerned ask your gp or midwife

I had this after my DD was born. It's called an anal fissure and it's a tiny tear around your anus. I'm not sure about treatment during pregnancy but I used proctocedyl suppositories and cream to provide relief as it had an anesthetic in it. I recommend drinking lots of water and eating fruit to soften your BM. Psyllium husk is also good which is found in Metamucil.
ETA this is very normal to happen in pregnancy as well as haemarroids so don't be too alarmed. As long as you're not bleeding from your vagina.

Thanks girls. Lucky I have a wonderful husband willing to check where it was coming from, and it was definitely not vaginal bleeding.
I will stock up on everything fibre related and make an appointment at my Gp just incase.
We got a doppler on Saturday and we could find bubs heart beat straight away so that was very reassuring!

Sounds like haemorrhoids sorry to say... Had this after DS was born on and off for months. It's awful. You can treat it with haemorrhoid cream. If you are really concerned, see your gp. Also I'm not sure if the cream is safe for pregnancy, so look into that first.

I've done 3 rounds of IVF and 1 pregnancy and suffered through terrible constipation throughout all. Phsyllium husks can be bought from health food shop on their own and a packet is a lot cheaper than Metamucil. It's also completely natural. You put a spoonful in a glass of water, drink it immediately followed by a a glass of water. Have morning and night.
When I became desperate, I also used depositories Glycerol. Little gold coloured bullets. One of this will have you on the loo in EASE in about 4.23 minutes ;-)

    Good luck.
