    Angry child bitten at child care and no one can tell me how or when it happened?

    hi I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I picked up my 20month old daughter from child care today and she had a full blown bite mark on her arm when I asked the staff they all said they didn't know when or how it happened. the bite broke the skin. there are two things Im worried about why they wouldn't notice it my bub would have screamed witch makes me think about how well they are watching the kids and the other is what could be transmited through a bite like this (as my bub isn't immunised).

    please don't judge me about immunisations I have a 5yr old who had a severe reaction to the imunisations and so did I so we chose not to do it. we have made a consious decision not to.

    If it broke the skin I think they should have called you to let you know. Was there an accident report? What did it say?

    Bites can happen pretty quick but they should have known when it happened atleast. They cant tell you who bit your child for confidentiality reasons but its poor form if they dont even talk to you about it.

    I had this happen with my 3year old. He can talk and the carers still had no idea.

    We've since changed centres.

    It's just not good enough.

    If the bite broke the skin, I'm fairly sure that legally they should have applied First Aid, written an incident report, and telephoned you. This was the procedure at my school in SA. I think you have every right to be furious. Hope your little one is ok...
