    Default Help!!!!!

Okay a bit of a serious issue here!!!
My little boy is now 6 1/2 months and we are having major sleeping issues!!!
The problem is he gets tired, I put him to bed and he plays (there are no toys in there), I have tried leaving him in there to see if he goes to sleep, but he doesn't the longest his been in there is 2 hours... By the end of the day he is just sooo cranky.... I don't know what to do???? Any advice?????????

    Hi

A baby of 6 months usually needs parenting to sleep - breastfeeding would have him asleep in minutes, rocking, patting, singing, sling, pram, whatever. How about lying in bed cuddling and patting until he drops off? You can either catch up on some sleep yourself then or sneak out and leave him to it. My son is nearly 2 and still parented to sleep, day or night. He selfsettled for a while but he changed and is now bf to sleep every day. It takes minutes and he's out for 2-3 hours. There's no way my son could drop off on his own, most of them really need some input at that point to help them settle. I hope you find a solution that works for you both. Check out the gentle sleep resources for lots more ideas!

Hi it sounds like a bit of a dilema. Does you little man sleep throughout the whole night? If he does maybe thats why he doesnt need sleep during the day. My DS sleeps during the night and hardly ever does he sleep during the day. Have you tried all the traditional remedies such as rocking, soft music, dimmer lights, mobile, feeding him before a sleep. Im not really sure of what else you could do. Maybe it might be a good idea to talk about this with your baby health nurse and see what she advises. Sorry im not much help to you.
