Default Antenatal class at the birthing hospital or elsewhere?

Just wondering if I should have antenatal classes at the hospital I have decided to deliver, or to go for private classes somewhere probably near home. Going to The Wesley Hospital I'm not sure if they have classes on weekends which would be our preference at this stage.

I found it useful to have them where I was going to deliver. A tour of the labour/maternity ward was included and it was useful to hear what the hospital's policies were for delivery and afterwards.

Depends on the birth you're having. The hospital I'm delivering at doesn't do any classes on c-sections and as we are having an elective c-section, I though it would be a waste of everyones time if I attended a class at my hospital that spends 95% of the time talking about the birthing process.

I found a hospital further away that do classes on c-sections so opted to go with them as it makes more sense. I can alway take a tour of the maternity ward of the hospital I'm delivering at, at a later date

Hey. I am booked at Wesley too. They do have weekend antenatal classes which runs from 8 to 4 on Saturday. You have to book in early though.

They told me about th different classes they had and we decided the 6 weeks class as the condensed class might be packed with information and probably I little difficult to digest everything.
6 weeks will also probably give us time to think and ask at the next class if we have questions.
