Alittle i had lots of bleeding with my 2nd pregnancy. If you can get an earlier scan I would just for peace of mind. I had to go on immediate rest til 12 weeks so it was good to know. I have everything crossed for you xx

Sonja, how did you manage rest with one bubs - or was she old enough by then, sorry I can't remember the age difference between your first two. I'm just finding it near impossible to rest with a 2yo.

I'm also very nervous about doing another internal scan fearing it may bring on the miscarriage. Maybe I'm being silly, but thinking I will just ask for blood test and have a tummy scan. I'l be a day off 8 weeks on Tuesday - am I being crazy?

Alittle I wasn't on bed rest but I couldn't lift her at all or run after her. She was a bit under 3. I worked 3 days a week which made it easier ironically as I was able to sit at a desk for 10 hours on those days.

I also bled a bit this time and didn't rest. This time I've no idea why I bled. With #2 it was a huge clot on the outside of the sac.

I had a scan at around 7 and a bit weeks with this pregnancy and they detected a heart beat just with a tummy scan (no internal). Good luck xx

Yes i too had a tummy scan around 7-8 weeks. I really am hopeful its ok for u alittle as bubs was actually measuring ahead , my experience is that its when they measure small then often its not a good sign. Let us know how u get on. stories like sonja's and how common bleeding is i hope can keep your hopes up. I was wondering i know u had a second shadow on ur first scan, maybe its something to do with that?

JFB, the shadow (second sac) wasn't there at the scan I had last Monday, just a big cyst. Sonographer agreed that the old blood I saw was likely the second sac so not sure if that would be coming out now, but I guess it could still be. Relieved to hear 7-8 week scans can be done through tummy... couldn't remember with A whether first scan with OB was just tummy, but think I'll just ask for tummy one and hope he finds a heartbeat easily.

    Thanks Sonja and JFB

JFB first days are sooooo hard. I'm sure you've found plenty to keep you occupied. H will no doubt love visiting his little sister too.

Alittle I hope everything's gone well today.

Some old blood this morning, but nothing fresh so did not need to go in for scan today. Ob was happy to leave until tomorrow if no fresh bleed today. Worried sick what tomorrow's scan will bring - praying we'll see and hear that little heartbeat again..... and sadly Ob is adamant he needs to do an internal scan to get a proper look . I will just have to grin and bear it.

Ask for a tummy scan first to at least hear the heart beat, When I had bleeding in my 2nd pregnancy he only did an internal after the tummy scan to determine exactly what the cause of the bleeding was. What time is it tomorrow?
