    Hey there

I'm just wanting to know how this clinic does EPU? I've read there is no GA and just some pain killers and gas? what is it like?

It only takes one mrs hopeful!

Good luck with your cycle Mrs Mac!!

delerium-EPU is usually with Panadeine, diazepam and gas. From personal experience, my first was very painful, very large ovaries and suspected ohss. Second I added Endone and it was a breeze. Third was another painful one even with the Endone as I had lots of follicles and very large ovaries again. The third one took 27 minutes as opposed to the average 10 minutes and only became painful in the last few minutes. The level of pain you experience depends on ovary position, size and number of follicles. I must say though, I don't metabolise drugs very well when taken orally and the pain killers didn't kick in until an hour after the procedure. At the end of the day, I wouldn't hesitate to do it over and over again and is great being able to get up and carry on with your day without the awful effects of a general.

Hi delirium due to have my first epu in about 2 weeks I dont know for sure but its true about being awake have heard its uncomfortable and a bit sore after, that is one of the things they do to keep the costs down. It also means whether or not you have private health cover makes no difference.

No, a speculum is inserted into the vagina, and a needle is attached to an internal ultra sound probe. The needle pierces the side of the vagina. It sounds a lot scarier than it really is.

Delirium, I have been thru 2 EPU's and I was so scared the first time round not knowing what to expect but I found it so much better than I expected.
Both times I had 2 panadeine forte & 2 Valium, plus I used the gas.
The first one I found to be only a little painful when the needle was inserted, but I the gas to be amazing!
The 2nd time I stopped the gas halfway thru so it hurt a bit until I started breathing the gas again. Both times I had a bit of cramping afterwards and slept on & off all afternoon and was fine the next day.
It's really sounds a lot worse than it really is.

Had my transfer today, I now have an emby on board. Hope it sticks. :-)
