Default Baby coming early or late?

Myself and my DH were both born a few weeks early when we were born, could this mean I am more likely to give birth to our bub early as well? Or would our births have nothing to do with it? Just curious if both parents were born early if it could have an affect on when you have your own child

I think there is a myth that a woman follows her mothers pattern. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. It rings true for me, I was born at 38 weeks (and my 4 siblings were all born before our due dates) and my two girls were both born at 39 weeks.

Nope not in our family. My siblings and I were all 6 days late. My girls were born the day before their EDD, on her due date and 3 days before her EDD

No idea! I was three weeks early (induced due to PE) and DH was three weeks late. I went into labour at 38+2 and DS was born at 38+3 after labour was augmented.

I was 10 days late. DH was three weeks early. DD came at 28 weeks! Not much of a correlation there...

My husband was 1 week late, I was 2 weeks early (induced)... Both my boys were born at 39+3, going into labour naturally.

Of my mums 3 pregnancies, she was only not induced for 1 & she went over. My mil had 4. All late bar 1 that was induced. We can't see any pattern with my sil or I with ours compared to hers :-)

They are currently working on a genetic study to determine if there is a gene carried by women who make them prone to premature births - but so far there's nothing conclusive which proves that preterm birth is hereditary.

so far i am following in my mums footsteps.
my brother(the eldest) was 3 weeks early, my first son was 2.5weeks early.
me and my sister were pretty much on time(i was a day late) and my second son was 1 day early.
we will see if we have another baby but i think babies come when they are ready or in the case of preemies before they are ready.
