I always put the tray back at any food place. Mind you I haven't been anywhere where I've needed a food tray in years.

This is karma for someone who obviously doesn't return trolleys.

Always bin my rubbish and return my tray when I eat anywhere that this is 'required' regardless of how many other clear tables there are for people to sit at. Where is my gold star?

I don't use a tray at maccas, I'm just there for the wifi and my kids eat carrots so no need for a tray.

My theory on this is that it's a lot easier for staff to notice a table that has a tray with wrappers on it and will go clean it, then it is for them to notice a table that needs to be wiped down.

So if the tray is left, then the table will get wiped down sooner than it would if it wasn't left!!!

**Spin off** do you wipe your own spills/mess off the table with a napkin or leave it for the cleaner?

    I do it if possible.

Edit: wipe spills I mean. I leave trays for the same reason as pp. so they do get a proper wipe over. Plus there isn't really anywhere to put the trays at our local food court other than the cleaners trolley. But the cleaners there usually do a great job:thumbup:

Too many replies to sit here reading them all but yes, I always return the trolley and can't stand it when people just leave them all over the place- I witnessed a lady leave her tolley on the path next to the carpark and she just stood there smoking as she watched it roll away and stop at the bonnet of another parked car.I would have said something but she looked like the type to rip my head off so what could I do?
2 weeks ago I was shopping with DD, it was a scorcher but I still returned the trolley; I unpacked it with her still in the baby seat and then carried her in one arm and pushed the trolley in the other to the trolley bay- this is how I always do it, there's just no other way (I can't leave her in the car obviously). Yes it was hot and I kept stubbing my toe on the back wheel but was I just supposed to leave it to veer into a parked vehicle?
And yep, return my tray and clean up my mess in foodcourts, even scrape all of the leftovers onto one plate in resturants and stack them neatly!
