    Default Lego instructions?

My DS loves Lego and has some sets with instructions.
We also have a big box full of Lego pieces.
I'm after some instructions to build things using plain square Lego pieces.
I did a search but only could find instructions for box sets.
Does anyone know where to get instructions for the plain old Lego?

There is a book you can buy called the Lego big book of ideas I think I saw it at the book store and it has heaps of ideas on things to build. Also there is a blog called Lego quest that a bloke writes setting Lego making challenges (I remember there being a cool Olympic one)
