Default Baby Jogger City Select- bassinet

Do I need it for a newborn or will the pram do?

Personally I got it and it was great. The sales assistant sold the pram to me with the normal seat reassuring me it would be fine for a newborn but I totally disagree. I found it dangerous with a newborn as they could tip out of the edge as the seatbelt won't fit them yet and very uncomfortable since they only fit in the top part of the seat for a few weeks before the 'dip' in the seat becomes a problem! Whereas in a bassinett they can stretch out and lay completely flat. The bassinett is definitely worth it I think. The normal seat isn't recommended until 6 months but we used ours from about 4 months.

Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense, in a rush.

When shown this pram at a shop I was told you had to have a bassinet as it was unsuitable for small babies. Not sure if this helps but I Didn't think it was an option, more a
    Necessity

A capsule would suffice I think. If your worried re cost check out eBay for
Second hand ones or may be
Worth looking At importing from us (just check features can sometimes be different) Mods feel

If you are buying capsules to suit you won't need a bassinet but we looked at these as well n you had to have either the capsule or the bassinet til bub was big enough.

My SIL used hers without a bassinet or capsule instead she puts an insert in. I personally didn't feel comfortable doing this as the straps are pretty big and don't fit bub very well, making it easy for them to fall out of.
I used a capsule with mine was well worth the money spent and sold for same price on eBay once I was finished with it.

The angle of the regular seat is not appropriate for a newborn. It's too angular & would hurt their back.

Also, on a self-promoting note, I have a brand new bassinet for the Bjcs in white/diamond for sale. Unused. I bought the wrong colour and so I bought another one in amethyst. Let me know if you're/ anyone is interested.
