Default Do u always say thank u for gifts even if..

I always call as soon as I've gotten it. So rude to not even send a text or email!!

I make sure I send things by express or registered post now too, so I can track it and know when it's been delivered/signed for.

    Yes. It's rude not to.

It could have been lost in the mail though.

I ALWAYS say thank you. I actually think it's more important if someone had gone to the trouble of posting it.

How long ago did she have her baby? If she is having a hard time it might have slipped her mind...

Having said that I always acknowledge gifts and sent thank you cards for everything we received. I have had people not do the same for me though for both wedding and baby gifts.

Hmm good idea to text and ask if she got it...
I was going to do it the next time I saw her anyway.. But might make me relax more about it to sort it out now. Maybe tomorrow i will ask

I always acknowledge gifts with a phone call or a text. Sometimes I'll send a thank you card.

SIL usually neglects to thank us for gifts sent in the mail, and I do find it a tad rude.

I always thank in someway, but that said it did take me a while to get thanks out in the early days with DD. We had a rough start and it just wasn't at the top of my priority list for a while. People might think that's rude but I would rather be showered and fed and have people think I'm rude than the reverse!

I would always acknowledge the gift. It's incredibly rude to to. My mum and siblings didn't bother to acknowledge all the money we spent on them at Xmas 2011 (inc sending them to UK) didn't even let us know they had arrived and we didn't get Anything from them. We haven't bothered since cant stand people who are that rude

It takes 5 seconds to send a thank you text. So even if the baby was 3 days old, I just can't see how you or your partner wouldn't have the spare time!?
I had a difficult baby that screamed and never slept but I made sure I had a second to thank people as gifts arrived. If I was busy I asked DH to do it quickly. Easy.
