I have a 5 seater ford territory which fits 3 seats in it. When I have the 3 seats, I have DS in his safety 1st forward facing behind the driver, DD in her Maxi rider AHR in the middle and then DDs friend in a seat similar to DSs (not sure of the brand). DDs seat is higher then the other 2 so they fit nicely next to each other.

Default Cars which fit 3 seats across the back

Another here who has a Toyota kluger and absolutely love love love it. We have a capsule and 2 booster seats in the middle row. It's such a great family car with so many added extras like reverse camera, mirror to see inside the whole car, blue tooth etc all standard. Honestly love it. We upgraded from a new model Subaru forester as we couldn't fit car seats across.

In saying that there is a new car seat coming out soon which will be the narrowest on the market with all the safety ticks etc (think its a britex?) can't quite remember. Looked good though.

Kluger and Territory are a bit thirsty for our purposes I think, since we already have a Navara.

I shall have to make enquiries with places that hire out car seats I think and see what may fit.

Having to move a driver's seat forward to fit a rearward facing seat in would be a major issue, due to us both being 6'1 tall.

Shall have to look into the new britex also. Surprised that more companies don't make and market their seats for small cars.

Yeah our kluger is thirsty. But for us that was fine as dh has an amarok (1000kms per tank) so it was fine plus its a big car and very very quick. But yes definitely not great on fuel.

I think the new seat coming out is 38cms wide. Super narrow. Will try find a link but it was a while ago that I looked. Due to come out very soon but close to $400 for the seat from memory.
