Default Who else is socially awkward....or introvert

Do you avoid situations or do you try and force yourself to be in or deal with such situations to better deal with them .....or just run the other way .....lol

I tend to avoid as much as possible.

Sometimes it just can't be avoided though- like having a child with issues means more interaction with teachers, doctors and the likes.. I find it really difficult.

I avoid. Makes for a really lonely life when I'm nearly 2000km away from family and have no one i know in this state but my partner and kids.

I force myself. Now I have my anxiety more or less under control I force myself for my childrens sake. I grew up with my mum never being social towards new people and I grew up the same, I dont wish that for my kids and I just dont give a rats what people may think of me when Im socially awkward and nervous. My boys see me approaching people and making and effort an effort, I like to believe that's why they are social butterflies.

I force myself, after moving interstate and realising my then 2 year old was desperately lonely I had no choice but to get out there and make friends. I have a different "face" I put on when meeting new people- almost like I'm an actor and therefore can be someone I'm not (I.e. engaging and outgoing) over time it has gotten easier and I found now that people don't believe I am really an introvert in disguise... However when the going gets tough I hibernate and become a shut in until I can recharge a bough or gather enough strength to face the world again. I hope I am setting a good example to my DD by doing this

I force myself, but not too much, I balance it out with plenty of replenishing me time.

I am not, but find myself a bit of a recluse since having kids. However, my husband is awkward and introverted and I can see how anxious he gets.

I'm very introverted. I've been making an effort to socialise with others for my DD's sake, and I've been enjoying it in small doses

I'm an extroverted antisocial person - tends to make me quite socially awkward. Want to be out there but dislike being with lots of people
