    Hi OP

I just wanted to say that even though it may feel like it, you are NOT alone. You have taken the first step in admitting and recognising that something is not right. Depression can consume a person (I know, trust me I do) and sometimes feels like someone has turned the light off inside you.
Is there anyone that you can confide in? The one thing that I would have loved to have heard from someone when I was at my lowest several years ago is that it absolutely CAN and DOES get better. Based on your description, it doesn't sound like something in particular is wrong (eg, a fight with a spouse) and that in itself can be scary- because you cannot pinpoint or put your finger on exactly what is wrong; and all you know is that something is wrong- that's the horrible and isolating nature of depression/anxiety.
I hope this all made sense.? I'm not good at putting it into words- just want to say that you are not alone. Please talk to someone, your GP is a great place to start.

Just know that you're not alone. I can relate to this so much. I was like this the first year of DS's life.
Please go see your GP if you haven't already done so. There are so many treatments out there that truly work.
With the right treatment, this wont last forever. I promise you. There are brighter days xxxx

Please get some help OP, please, I have been where you are, like there is no way up, but it does get better i promise. I was at a point in my life after the birth of my baby where I felt truly alone, depressed and worthless. I started zoloft, and seeing a psychiatrist and with these things and time, things have slowly but surely got better! I'm not saying it will be easy, or these exact things will work for you but there is hope if you seek some help. Hugs hugs hugs you are not alone in the way you feel. If your GP just shoves you on AD's wants to leave it like that (as my GP wanted) please request a referral to a specialist, it is important to talk to somebody who is experienced in depression/mental illness. Xx
