Default Who else is having progesterone pesseries and clexane injections?

I am on 200mg bd. I find it difficult to lie down with shift work, bit have managed one after work generally 1100pm and another about 5am.

I claim about $45 back with bupa but only $500 worth. It depends if you have extras cover.

I get a dull ache I guess it it the cervix being irritated slightly. I'm only 7w2d of IVF preg and not sure how long I will be on them. My fertility specialist wants it stopped and my obstetrician wants me to stay on it. Lol. I'd prefer to stay on it to be sure I did everything I could.

I didn't have any side effects from them. Well none that I could link to them specifically.

Usually you cease the pessaries just after 12 weeks, as that's when the placenta takes over the production of progesterone

I am on pesseries and don't find them that messy at all.... Although they do make you feel a little moist, so a panty liner is a good idea. 30 pesseries cost me $90 and I got $36 ish back from medibank private.

I was on progesterone and Clexane (alongside other meds) until 14 weeks. My clinic advised to do progesterone rectally - better absorption and also no need to lie down after or use panty liners as there is no leakage or mess.

I am still on progesterone and clexane at 26 weeks. Continuing both until 37 weeks if we make it that far. Also took Pred and 6 tablets of estrogen to 14 weeks, but then got to stop those :-). From what I can work out, progesterone can remain low after the first trimester in certain auto immune diseases (I have lupus) so continued use of progesterone pessaries can be indicated. The clexane can promote implantation, or prevent damage to the placenta from blood clots caused by autoimmune issues. My sister who also has Lupus had 2 premmie babies with IUGR due to premature placenta failure from thrombosis, so I don't mind sticking with the injections.
The pessaries don't bother me too much, I can't use the back passage due to piles, but I have heard it is very effective and less messy. I just have a nice supply of fabric liners, because they are pretty, and I think they are more comfortable than the plastic ones.

I still jabbed into my belly in the last few weeks. As the skin got tighter, I found I didn't bruise anymore at all!

    Hi
Just found out tonight that I have Factor V Leiden and will need Clexane after we have lost a few bubs. I posted a fresh thread earlier tonight before searching for previous ones. Just had a few questions if you wouldn't mind helping.

    *What is the dose/frequency
*When did meds start and stop for pregnancy
    *Cost

Not sure if they were all the questions I had...it's getting late!
    Thank you!

Clexane wasn't expensive mayb about $35-40 but I am not sure on doses as everyone may need different I'm on once a day for 12 wks .
I started ASAP I knew I was preg as it helps with blood clotting in early pregnancy it's best to start as early as you can. Hope this helps.
    So far so good .
