Default If you have a cleaner...

Ok so I've had a cleaner before but was working. I used to leave her a key and i would come home from work and my house was lovely! DH and I have decided to get a cleaner as getting stuff done with my high needs bubba is just a nightmare.
So I have a cleaner coming tomorrow for the first time. But instead of being at work I will be at home! I feel weird! So dumb question... What do you while the cleaner is cleaning?
Obviously I will be feeding my newborn and fixing her bottles and stuff. But I usually have a half hour break at times (she catnaps) before I have to attend to her. I would sit and have a coffee. But that seems weird.
Ok I'm just babbling now with my first world problem of feeling weird about the cleaner cleaning while I have a coffee!

I'm always out when my cleaner comes..

Could you take bub for a walk? Or fluff around on the computer but tell the cleaner you are doing bills?

I go about my normal business, looking after the kids, the washing, whatever. They are used to it.

I do my normal thing and try not to get stuck talking to her - she is very chatty.

Hehe don't worry, I think its a completely natural feeling. When I lived on campus at university, we had our rooms vaccumed once a week by the cleaners. Most awkward 5 minutes standing outside in the hallway waiting for them to do it.

I still feel awkward having people serve me and take my plates away at restaurants!

I don't feel so dumb now. My previous cleaner was awesome but if she was still there when I got home from work I used to drive around the block! She used to talk forever!

It is a weird feeling. I do prefer to not be home when my cleaner is around. If I am, then I'm usually busy doing something preferably out of the way - on the computer, reading a book, etc. Just go into your bedroom & shut the door & you could be tidying, reading, sleeping, whatever. If you do plan to do something when you've got a break let the cleaner know so they can do that area first

It's no big deal, just do whatever you like.

I'm a cleaner and if they are home it doesn't matter. Do whatever you want to do. I don't care if they are busy doing something or just reading and having a cup of tea or even watching TV.

Yup I've done house cleaning before and often the people were home but I honestly was to busy to care. If your really worries you could go down one end of the house and swap ends when she gets close lol mostly ppl just kept going about their business.. (Tv, comp work, phone calls ect)
