My DS in Yr 1 had a reader every night (5-10mins), "look, cover, write, check" spelling list twice a week, and a "maths goals" sheet that is completed over the whole term, we usually did the maths twice a week. So total about 10-20mins/night. I think this is a perfect amount for his age. We always do the reader before bed and the rest after they are home from school, but after a rest and snack.

    Default Re: Year 1 homework

DS has 3 home reader books, sight words and an activity sheet for writing. I feel its too much tbh but we just have to do it i guess.
