It was Mesh sl. Try covering them in cream at each change.

I think it has a lot to do with my controlling personality and not being able to control this part of my life...

Dragon love the pics just gorgeous!! 3 weeks already!
I was the same Nicsta, I reckon I has week 2 blues... I just couldn't stop crying, but looking back now it was all the pressure I was putting myself under to breastfeed when it really wasn't working for Myles & I... Remember to look after your mental health, we are so fragile filled with so many hormones we need to be careful & cut ourselves some slack! XXXX

Can we breastfeed if we have cracked nipples?

I think she is swallowing some blood as there is some in her spit up...!

I don't think it hurts them but is so painful for you. Do you have any nipple shields? And did you get a pump? Might be good to use either for a day or so till they heal ( which amazingly they do pretty quick) oh and heaps of Lansinoh every hour or so.

Oh mrs Simmo I know exactly where your coming from and by all accounts it gets better. This is now my second day and its been so much better than yesterday...I am really trying to take it 1 hour or feed at a time...it's very overwhelming but reassured your not alone.

Dragon I did buy the pump and have been expressing from the more damaged side. I have the lansinoh but no shields, might need to pick some up tomorrow.

It doesn't hurt that much to feed, just first few seconds while she latches...it's so hot here so she is feeding more often.

I have been using lansinoh and love it. Also I would HIGHLY recommended hydrogel breast pads..they are fantastic! I had a cracked nipple on one side and they were both sore and I just ran these babies under cold water just shook off excess water and placed them inside my breast pads and they provided amazing relief! I am now back to using just lansinoh but if I feel extra sore I'll slip them in and usually put them in once a day for a little bit...yep going on about them lol!

Re the sticking restocked we have been using some cream in nappy change I put a little bit on after the sticking incident and it hasn't happened again yet thank goodness

Hanging to speak to a lactation consultant but due to long weekend I doubt I'll get through to anyone until Tuesday. Orlando loves the boobs but half the time I think he's just them as a dummy...and he won't take an actual dummy. Hubby and I are just trying different things and learning each day.

Orlando's umbilical cord fell off earlier! I just happened to be on the phone to a midwife talking about it as it had been bleeding and it just happened! Freak out! It's a bit pussy so we've covered it with gauze and if no change tomorrow we'll take him to get looked at.

My feet and ankles are swollen worse than ever now...need to spk to someone about that too -any of you have that problem?

I can't believe our little bundle of love is 8 days old'n

Oh and re the crying/ baby blues...I had orlando in Friday I was told by midwife I may get teary and emotional on the Monday but it turned out to be Tuesday night it started for me and continued. It's Saturday now and feeling not as emotional but still very slightly on edge! I was crying at everything and DH was amazing! Baby blues for sure and for me was a combo of sleeplessness, elation, worry and of course those lovely hormones!!

We had Orlando up from 9pm until 7am a couple of nights ago it was bloody hard! Last night he was up from 2-6am so we'll see what happens tonight! He hasn't slept as well during the day today so watch this space!

Sorry for the essay it's nice for me to read others' experiences so hopefully will be nice for you to read mine!!

Not much else happening except its ten past eleven with a suckling little bubba !

You know what's weird? I feel like a tingling sensation like an electric buzz all over me all if a sudden!!!

    Nighty night ladies

    Xxx

Think it's the lack of sleep and the unknown. I'm a control kinds person and there is no control with a new bub!

Also DH hasn't looked for a new job yet cause he wants to be here which us great cause I need him here, but at the same time I get worried about him finding one and that brings extra anxiety and more unknown!

Sorry for the sad post I just need to get it out!

Do ladies does it get easier....do you work out some kind of routine? Should we already have a routine?? Or should I just feed her every 3/4 hours and/or when she is hungry??
Hope ur feeling better nicsta - Orlando went through a stage and is kind of still going through it where he cluster feeds and was just on the boobs 24/7. They say every 3-4 hours but bubs only slept fur an hour after a 40 minute feed and woke up to being hungry so I'm feeding!
