SL1009: re losec - you can get this in a liquid form....you take it to a compounding pharmacy- your hospital where you had you tests for orlando will be one...get it made up in strawberry! not all pharmacies are compounding pharmacies...the liquid preparation is way more expensive but so much easier and i think more sterile - none of this crushing up business....

also there are certain preparations of losec that don't allow you to crush them.... check if you decide to crush prior to purchasing them...

(dont mean to boss but weve been thru it and had to find out the hard way when the tablets we were crushing got caught in her throat and then the formulation of the tablets i had was incorrect so the losec didnt initally work as the crushing destroyed the active ingredient.)

SL - I agree with gampa. Ive heard that you shouldnt crush up losec as the active ingredient is actuallly the little round balls in the pill. What ive done is actually just cut the pill in half or a quarter..put it in a baby spoon and mix with water. The water breaks everything up then I plop it in baby's mouth like im feeding him solids. Sometimes the medication gets stuck on the spoon and I actually leave spoon and meds tilted in babys mouth and I squirt some water on the spoon and it all just slides into his mouth like a water slide haha. That seems to work the easiest for us.

Ive also heard that the liquid form is great but it loses its shelf life is quite short. So if you were to get a months supply a lot of times it loses its effects after 2 or 3 weeks.

i hope your little one continues to improve xx
Thanks gampa! I remember getting told by an idiotic gp that I should just change formula. I felt like showing him the 5 different brands of formula id already put bub through in the past and how none made a difference. I really wanted to smack him.

And no am not taking him off losec...weve already been starting him on solids but very inconsistently. He does like food though

Ahh, I think I do too! Got the chills, and when I feed it feels like RAZOR WIRE! Cat see any redness but, feels just above/behind the nipple :-(

What do you do? I'm worried if I express too much I'll just increase supply :-(

Any tips appreciated! I want to try to resolve it before having to head to the doctors... :-(

I have no idea if acid burn is the same as reflux but it sounds like Maddison is in the same boat as Orlando and my GP plus the paediatrician said its reflux
