    Default Favourite "diet" foods

Banana pancakes - 1 ripe banana, 1 egg and some milk if you want to make it runnier. Mix it all together into a batter, and you know the rest really nice with maple syrup (the real stuff, not fake flavoured rubbish). Or sprinkled with cacao.

I have so many other recipes too! I have a berry mug muffin recipe somewhere that's awesome. I'll come back and share some more

Yum, I'll have to try those pancakes.

I love an egg-flip for breakfast.
Half a cup of milk, 1 egg, cinnamon, vanilla, and touch of sweetener, ice, blend.
Cheaper and nice than a packaged diet shake.

Savoury muffins made with beaten egg whites and almond meal in place of white flour.
Still high in calories, but low carb.

Not so much a diet recipe but a 'clean eating recipe'. Breakfast, Good quality raw oats, sunflower seeds, crushed walnuts, flaked almonds, pepitas and shaved coconut and whole milk. Yum. I have eaten this for breakfast for the last 6 months and have still lost weight. High in fibre, high in good fats very low in sugar.

Most my recipes are clean eating not dieting. I don't agree with dieting. I hope 'clean' recipes are welcome in here still?

I make Cinnamon and Date porridge. You get 5 dates, cut them up small and put them into a saucepan with a half cup of quick oats, teaspoon of ground cinnamon, quarter cup of skim milk and about a cup and a half of water.

Cook it on a low slow heat, although I've made it in 5 minutes when in a rush in the morning and it was fine. It's just that the longer it's cooked the more the dates melt into the mix.
You don't have to add any sugar because the natural sweetness of the dates gives you a great treacly hit and for what sounds like such a small amount of food it happily keeps me satisfied until my mid-morning snack.

It works out to about a 300 calorie breakfast which is great if you're on a 1200 calorie plan but you could certainly reduce the calories by making it with 3 teaspoons of unpacked brown sugar rather than the dates (a reduction of about 90 calories) if you wanted to give yourself some extra calories for snack time but I love dates and I like the extra nutritional value from them so I stick with the dates for now .
Yum eko! That porridge sounds delish! I luuurve porridge in winter.

    Yummy ideas, great thread!
    My favourites ATM:
Oats + milk, cook 1.5 mins in the microwave, add a grated apple & a handful of chopped walnuts, cook 1 min more.
    Or
1 egg cooked as a crepe style omelette. When the first side is done, flip it then sprinkle with a small handful of grated cheese, cook until melted, lay it on a wrap, add some salad & voila
    Or
Roasted buckwheat cooked in stock, add in some lightly fried onion, celery, grated carrot, add a little cumin & coriander/curry flavours, add a little natural yoghurt to serve.

I like tuna, brown rice and 'steamfresh' frozen veggies for lunch.

Add some soy or sweet chili sauce for some tang.

    Nutritious, filling and tasty!

    Clean food very welcome
It's always better to have a long term healthy eating plan than using crash diets!
