    Default Antibiotics in pregnancy

    Hi everyone
I have a broken tooth that I think is infected. I'm not getting any dental work done until after bubs has arrived as I have a major dentist phobia and I need to be sedated to go.

My question can you take antibiotics to kill the infection will the Dr give them to me for my tooth. I'm 11+1

I took antibiotics for a sinus infection several times during both pregnancys. So there are at least some that are considered safe.

Yeah you can but it won't help with the pain. I had a broken wisdom tooth during pregnancy and had it filled because they wouldn't remove it without x raying it, and they wouldn't x ray me while pregnant.

I think so. I'm 38+2 and have been on 500mg amoxicillin for a throat infection since Monday. Just make sure you tell them you're pregnant when you go see them

No judgement. There is an old wives tale that says you lose a tooth for every baby/pregnancy. Something like that.

Im still very early in my pregnancy. I had a severe cheat and throne infection. Arnt to doc and said we've been trying and there may be a slim change Im pregnant. She put me on 500mg amoxycillin. She said no harm should come to baby. Due to the extreme temps i had been having she also said take panadol. Sparingly.

I had Amoxocilin for a UTI whilst 8 week pregnant, No dramas.

Ive just been to the dentist myself at 18 weeks pregnant, You can have xrays... 1. Make sure they put the lead blanket over you, Ask for 2 at the same time if your really worried and as my dentist explained to me, Its almost like a digital photo these days.

I also confirmed with my midwife and GP. Perfectly safe.

Yes some types of antibiotics are safe in pregnancy, we administer antibiotics for UTI's, preterm labour and pre labour rupture of membranes to pregnant women all the time at work.
