I suspect cmp allergy, we are currently waiting to see a specialist at the rch. We started on karicare gold, added thickner, went to de-lact (which eliminated reflux symptoms) to ha as she broke out in eczema at 8wks to allerpro which she reacted to. Is the elecare cows milk protein free or extensively hydrolized? We also seen a chiro. My lo was much happier in regards to digestive/reflux on the ha but her eczema has been horrible so were now on neocate (costing a fortune until we see allergist for a script) and her skin is beautiful. Just want to say I think your doing great with following your mothers instincts, sleep school is not going to do nothing if the cause for her being in pain is still in the back ground.
    Hi there

Well she has been doing SO much better on the elecare. Im not sure if its cowsmilk but its agreeing with her whatever it is. She still will get unsettled for periods of time but its just grizzles not screaming the place down so more like a normal newborn...She is still not a great sleeper but is much better at night...getting a few hours at a time. Her reflux will see her scream out every now and then but she is on Losec for that which im not sure if its working or not just yet
but overall and in general she is alot better.... I hope you get some answers soon.... Stay in touch

I have been following your thread and just wanted to say I am so glad to read things are starting to improve.

In regards to the losec it can take up to two weeks I've been told before it is working properly once on the right dose. We did see improvement after a few days once DS dose was increased but it wasn't 100%.

Are you using the losec tablets or suspension? If using the tablets it is very important not to crush them, it must be dispersed in water. If you use the suspension it is only good for 30 days although others suggest its effectiveness peaks around 10 days due to the drugs stability issues once suspended.

You may have already known this but just thought I would share just incase.

With the sleep school, if you do find you wanting to look into it I honestly don't think they would do controlled crying at that age. All the MCHN I have come in contact with are against it because "it kills brain cells" (I am not saying I agree or disagree with this statement, just what I have been told).

Hope things continue to improve for you.

sorry for late reply... I was referred there by either my midwife or my gp (cant remember). I lived on the Sunshine Coast at the time but we didnt have anything like that up there so the family and i travelled to Brisbane for a week. Also I noticed someone mentioned that sleep school would not help. Ellen Barron is primarily a sleep school but i went there for feeding issues and they help with a variety of issues. My baby was having reactions to my breast milk whenever i had Dairy, soy, wheat, eggs or gluten. I went to Ellen Barron for support to wean my baby onto prescription formula as the elimination diet just wasnt working.

Oh sorry its been a while. Well dd has been doing much better. Still has some trouble with reflux and some unsettledness but for the most part is normal. I think we may have it worked out now... The elecare certainly agrees with her.

Could you maybe try a different type of formula, like a goat milk one, or perhaps non dairy.
