Might be a bit late for you, but yes they can. They just need to do an absentee vote.... Hopefully the queue won't be as long as the one I was stuck in this morning!!

Does anyone know what time voting closes? Dd2 is asleep and I haven't had a chance to go down yet. I have been too busy meeting dan and Dani from the block, and shopping

Hope you all got to vote.

I was working all day today at a polling booth on Declaration voting.

(I only finished cleaning up and counting etc at about 10, got home about 10.30pm).

My best advice if ever in doubt is to go to your local polling place (you need this info for when the Federal election come up in September), then you may be given a provisional vote (if you believe you should be on the roll but aren't, or an absentee vote (if you are enrolled to vote somewhere outside of the district you are voting in).

If there's any issue with getting a vote, then you can get marked as attending a polling place and you won't get a fine, or up date your details or whatever. If you don't even attend a polling place, then you won't ever know

We ended up doing an absentee vote. Went to the local primary school and filled out the voting down from our old electorate. And we changed the electoral address details for the big federal election!

I thought it was even less, like $20 if you're willing to pay as soon as it arrives and $50 if you let it lapse over a certain time. Early bird incentives for paying fines!

They use to be $30 but I think they've gone up to $50-$60

London did you see the girl who won the cosplay as Harley Quinn? Did you get your pic/autograph?

I got fined a few years ago and it was only like $20 but apparently it's $55 now.
