Default Underwire bra while I'm still BF'ing?

    Hi there

I have a function to go to tomorrow night for a few hours only. I'll feed my bubba to sleep & leave him home with dp, so I don't need access to my boobs.

The only dress I have that is suitable to wear, I have to wear a strapless bra with -- would the underwire be ok for just a few hours? I can't wear my maternity bra with this dress!!!!

    Help!!

Default Underwire bra while I'm still BF'ing?

How old is bub? We're going to a christening on Sunday. And I'll need to wear a wired strapless bra. DD will be 9 weeks old so my supply is huge. I'm hoping that because it will only be for an hour to 2 it will be Ok.

The strapless underwire wouldn't have been a problem for me, it would have been trying to conceal the breast pads, I seem to have been able to see them through everything I wore, even padded bras, and I couldn't not wear them.

For a few hours I'd say it's totally fine, then go back to your normal bra.
I'd just have a toilet break or two, and check for lumps and manually express into the toilet if you're feeling a bit full.

I tried this for a wedding when DD was 4 months. I never had super-engorged boobs, esp later in the day due to supply issues, but even so.. owies! I ended up sneaking off and putting it in my bag after about 2 hours I couldn't stand it. Luckily the dress had several layers over the bust so I wasn't indecent (just not as perky as I'd hoped). Could a bandeau be another option?

When DD was 3 months old we had a wedding and I wore a strapless underwire bra it hurt a lot. I was having supply issues and it still hurt. Could you try wearing one around the house for an hour an see how you go.

It should be fine, I've done this several times. Just make sure its not too tight and express or feed when you get home.

As long as it fits properly should be fine for those few short hours.
