Default How do I get rid of ants?

They keep coming back in my kitchen. I barely have anything on the bench top apart from tea, coffee, sugar all sealed up (food wise) & I've been wiping down the bench all day but they keep coming back. Anyone know a secret to keeping them away?

Oh! Subbing! I'm plagued by the little buggers at the moment!
I read that cinnamon puts them off- it doesn't!
I would like something non toxic as I have pets- oh, and kids :haha:

Figure out their source. Put ant kill drops on all entry points inside and run ant sand along their paths outside.

I use ant rid, means a few extra ants while they attract to it, but they take it back to their nest and it kills them
