Hi emski. I just got the call to start injections Sunday night. I usually sniff for 13/14 days to suppress follicles then start injections, but this time it will be 17 days of sniffing. I then normally inject for 9 days and have egg pickup on day 13. Our timelines will be very similar.

EPU went well today - FS collected 7 eggs, of which 5 were mature and could be injected. DH did a sperm sample, but no surprises, nothing useable in there, so they used the anon donor sperm. I particularly quizzed the scientist on this, and she said that they choose the sperm with big heads and moving furiously. I knew that that was the case, but it's always reassuring to hear that they did do that:-) Double checked with the FS and I am going to use both the progesterone pessaries (morning and night), as well as the Prgenyl injections every three days, in order to keep AF at bay. So everything is going really well - I'm a little excited, as the result of having 5 injected with sperm is more than the last 4 cycles put together!!

AFM - well after 2 weeks of Gonal F, O finally happened Monday night, so transfer will be Saturday. I had my first ever acupuncture session today too. It mostly wasn't half as bad as I expected, but I felt absolutely exhausted afterwards and now have a monster headache, so an early night for me is in order I think. I also bumped into an old schoolmate at the clinic today, haven't seen her in nearly 20 years, but it was great to catch up. I'd seen her around at the clinic in the waiting room, but no one talks to each other in our clinic waiting room, so we'd never been sure if we should say anything or not. It will be good to have a friendly face in the waiting room every now and then.

Thanks everyone for thinking of me :-))

Angelmama..... this time I didn't do the sniffing Syranel, as apparently my body doesn't need that down reg - I've heard that can be fairly common for older women. Instead I used Testogel (rub into skin) for the 6 weeks before the cycle (meant to get better egg quality) Menopur injections (FsH) which I did also use last cycle and Orgalutran (antagonist) which is apparently used to stop ovulation occuring early. Ovidrel was the trigger (1 and a half). Otherwise that was it. As mentioned I'll use the pesseraries (progesterone support) as that did drop in one of my cycles, and Pregnyl injections (to ward off AF), which just means no POAS for me.

Springrain.... we'll be very close together then. You're transferring on Saturday, and if all goes well, I will transfer on Monday. Fingers crossed then for both of us!!

Micca.... I had a good chuckle at your twist on "party in the petri dish" - yes, cougar / toy boy relationship it is! I'd have to go look it up again, but I think he's 21 ;-)) Hope you're going well?
