Hi Ann... Cape Fertility Clinic said 3 - 5 days and then I start on the Lucrin shots! So guess I am officially cycling for my Sth African DE cycle! To be honest, I wish that i hadn't wasted so much time, heartache and money getting to this. I have always said I wished that I had opened my eyes more to so many things regarding ivf. I suppose I was led by my previous FS and never really thought about the fact that my age would mean lack of investigation, treatment and options at that clinic. Going it alone with just my daughter and DH staying at home is certainly making this one heck of a trip!!!! No false hopes and even with young donor eggs and young donor sperm there are plenty of obstacles to overcome but it feels good to have some direction and a glimmer of hope.

Hi Everyone...having lots of problems posting, so hope you get this one. Officially cycling...stopped taking OCP on Tuesday, AF arrived Friday and started Lucrin. Will commence asprin, prednisolone and progynova shortly, with Estradot patches, Viagra pessaries, Terbutaline and Clexane to follow after that. So 13 more sleeps...we leave on 13th. Flights and accommodation booked, as well as cage diving and shark breeching tour. Also going luxury camping for our safari at the Dwyka Tented Lodge...our birthday pressies to each other. So it all a goer! to everyone...will do personals once I can post properly.

Sunny and DJ, - Enjoy your holidays, and your excess baggage on the way home ... I can't wait to hear all about it as you go.

    Lots of coming your way.

    Thanks Kenta and Mrs Pontipine!

It seemed like it would be forever before leaving and now, I look around my lounge room and think that within the fortnight so many things I love will be miles away from me. Mainly my DP!! Of course I will miss him terribly. We have only ever had a few nights away from each other in total so doing over 2 weeks is massive! My little dogs are snuggled by the heater, my DP is asleep on the sofa with one of the cats, two of my mares are heavily pregnant and I will be miles away with my 9 year old DD. Really brings home what ivf means. It truly is a terribly hard road, no matter how we are tackling it, and for those women that keep on going, I have so much admiration for them. I think we all feel it when one of us cop a BFN but geez isn't it so brilliant when it's a BFP....I think women that even touch ivf have an amazing capacity to love.

Thanks so much for the good wishes, it means so much.

Just ate a bag of peanut m&ms and in between mouthfuls took my elevit... must be comfort eating!!!!

    DJ xx

    Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear about the bfns and various stages of the difficult journeys out there. Even when we work so hard to get a bfp it's all still so nerve racking!

Thanks to everyone for answering my question re donor egg costs and cycles. We're so lucky to have people out there who have experienced it and can have this information at our finger tips! Imagine back in the day of no forums or Internet! It's purely only due to reading about other women's journeys and options here that I've even thought it could b a consideration.

I'm so excited for the SA girls! Can't believe after all this , it's under 2 wks away now!

AFM Final bt 2mrw. I've tried as hard as I can to relax and get thru the 2ww without reading too much into anything. Like micca though, I don't get too many symptoms other than hugely sore bippies, tummy swelling and hungry!

    Goodluck Musicalgal.

Hello to all - I'm about to start cycling again this month - who else is in - Springy you're doing a FET no? Anyone else?
I'm picking up my meds on Friday and meeting my nurse at the new clinic - and let me say this is definitely the kitchen sink protocol...
Antibiotics for DH & I, synarel, predsinolone, gonal f, menopur, dhea, melatonin, clexane, pregnyl and progesterone suppositories... all this at the busiest time of year at work . I've had my diagnostic (clean out) D&C, uterine scratch and hysteroscopy a couple of weeks ago so just waiting on AF... hopefully she will be on time and not early as that would really stuff up my hopes of doing a cycle this month .

My FS was on tele the other night talking about getting older ladies pregnant which was interesting. Here's the link if you're interested - although there is some negative stuff in there too about being an 'older mum' so be warned.

I hope everyone is going ok - I'm feeling positive going into this cycle - maybe because everything is new - clinic, fs, drugs, hospital ... everything. They do say a change is as good as a holiday right?

    xx
