Mrs P - thinking about you and sending sticky vibes your way.

Kenta, thinking of you for your upcoming cycle.

Ann, I am sorry to hear of your BFN. What have you decided to do next?

Fortitude, glad to hear of your plans for a donor cycle

Fleur, sorry to hear your news about your BFN and about your little boy Hope you are taking care of yourself this week. I'm happy to hear about your upcoming Elonva cycle, great that you won't need so many injections. Good luck for your current cycle.

    Sagitwist, how are you going?

DJ, thanks for your update. Sounds like a real party in SA with so many of you going over! Sunny, how are you?

    Emski, congratulations on being PUPO!

Micca, your trip is coming up so fast! Hope you have unpacked now and settled in.

Bertie, I'm sorry to hear they couldn't get any good swimmers from your DH. Sending good vibes to your little embie - grow!

Twocam, thinking of you for your EPU tomorrow

    Midnite, congratulations

Hi to everyone else, hope you have had a good week.

Reading everyone's posts on day 2, 3 or 5 transfers - it's great that you get a choice. My clinic seems to have day 5 transfer as a standard unless something happens beforehand. We have all been sick here - the works, sore throat hacking cough, fever, muscle aches etc. Maybe that is keeping AF at bay - she was due Sunday, but hasn't showed up. I tested this morning with FR but BFN. So when she shows up, onwards and upwards to the next FET. I felt a bit guilty last night, thinking that maybe I should have had the presence of mind to ask my FS to do another stim cycle this month, but I wasn't thinking of that back then.

    Hey Ladies

I know I am not quite 40 but I am getting in that territory. I am just wondering per ivf cycle how many eggs do they collect from you and what dosages of medication you are on.

I have had 3 fresh transfers (af early on all, suggesting p4 dropping to rapidly despite pessaries but Dr is addressing that) 1 FET which resulted in pg but I miscarried last week and d & c yesterday.

I am just wondering if its all normal. First cycle 6 follicles 225 gonal f (1 only to transfer) and synarel, 2nd 375 gonal f and Orgalutran and I got 9 follicles (1 to transfer and other didn't make the thaw) and third cycle 450 gonal f and Lucrin ( 7 eggs, 2 transferred and 1 frozen) My frozen one was the one I got pregnant with.

I think my other cycles were wasted with my dropping p4 but hey we live and learn.

Any words of wisdom or experiences I would love to hear.

    Hi Elkalemi,

Welcome! That is so heartbreaking to hear about your son. I don't even know how you get through something like that. You must have amazing strength and I hope you have been surrounded by loving support.

Good luck on your fertility journey. You have been pregant before so you know you can do it!! Patience and perserverence will bring you the beautiful little bundle you are wishing for.

You mention your dropping P4 (is this Progesterone?). What does your FS say about this and what is the action plan? You mentioned they are addressing this. I would really like to know more as I am having something similar happening with a very dramatic drop off despite Ovidrel + Crinone (yet high levels when I am on my own natural cycle). I think it is interesting that you got pregnant on the frozen transfer. Do you and your FS think this could be because your body was not coping with stimulation and recovery from EPU? It's great that you are having embryos to freezing stage. That is a great sign. They must be great quality.

Are you going to continue to transfer 2 embryos each time or will it be case by case? This is a hot topic for me right now. I am not sure which way to go for my next cycle. Would love your feedback on this.

I know you want to compare cycle strategy so mine has been as follows:
    #1 - Gonal F 300, Orgalutran- 4 follies, 3 eggs, 1 fertilised but stopped developing on D2 so D2 tfr was cxl
#2 - Lucrin, Gonal F 300, Saizen + Ovidrel, Crinone and Clexane post tfr (Clexane to support NK cells) -3 follies, 3 eggs, 2 fertilised with ICSI (great quality this time ) 1 transfered, 0 frozen, BFN
#3 to commence in May (unless I have a spontaneous BFP this month ) with Elonva and Orgalutran (Saizen is still undecided) + Ovidrel, Crinone and Clexane post tfr.

Sending all my support your way!!!

Hope you feel better very soon Springrain. All this is a huge stress on our bodies. Give yourself some TLC and rest.

Thank you for your lovely note. Yes very excited about trying Elonva and reducing some injections. Last cycle was pretty full on. I have read good feedback about Elonva and the lack of side effects.

Twocam.... good luck for your EPU tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you :-))

    Emski... PUPO twins!! how exciting!!

AFM.... scientist rang this morning - embryo is still battling, but is only at 4 cells, when on day 3 it should really be 6-8 cells. They're not going to take it out of the incubator to look at it tomorrow, so will next look at it and ring on Saturday morning before we leave for the transfer. I'm not too worried, as I've read things about "slow" embryos catching up or turning into beautiful babies, so I'm just rather pleased that it has continued growing. If I don't get to transfer, then I'm fairly at peace knowing that it would have been unlikely to have kept growing in my body. At the moment, just glad it's got this far :-)
Thanks for your lovely note. It has been horriific and alot of grieving but I'm just trying to put one foot in front of the other and trying now to stay focussed on moving forward as best I can and believing that this year will be our year to conceive a beautiful little baby.

Good luck with that beautiful embryo. Fingers crossed! My second embryo in this recent cycle was 3 cell on D3 and they thought it was a write off but by D5 it was early blastocyst - they couldn't believe it. They were saying "whoo-hoo!!!". So some embryos just run at a different speed. Some are sprinters and some are running a marathon. Here's hoping yours is a little marathon superstar. Thinking of you and can't wait to hear your news. YAY!

Unfortunately, our little embryo stopped growing, and this morning (day 5) it was still only 4 cells, so it's all over for us. It's very sad, because even with donor sperm we didn't get lucky, and now the possibility of it never happening seems rather real. Waiting for the FS's phonecall, then will probably take a couple of months break and try again in June or July.

    Hi Fleur

Yes p4 = progesterone. This cycle with the FET, I had regular blood tests to monitor and they upped my pessaries from 2 to 3 and then up to 4 a day @ 200mg each. My lowest p4 was 58 during that time but they wanted to maintain it.

I don't think judging from my frozen that its the issue, I think it is the fresh cycles and that too many hormones are causing the crash. During my 3rd Fresh cycle I called my clinic and they said I was on the maximum dose of pessaries but I have learnt from these forums its not normal to get your period while on p4 and when I did get my period I rang and got an appointment with my specialist.

He agreed it was not normal and thats when he said more monitoring with bloods and possibly injections as well. With my next my fresh cycle I will be pushing for it.

I think I would only do one on my fresh cycle because I feel I have wasted them because of the p4 issue.

I am sorry to hear of your losses as well. For me the death of my son has been far more traumatic than the miscarriage I have just had. Some days its hard to breathe but I have to keep going for my daughter.

Is it common the older we get, the less follicles we get? I feel at my age I am drying up and that is really upsetting me and are there meds they can give to help improve with quality and/or numbers.
