Goldie did you do/ are you doing the ante natal classes at John Flynn? Anyone else done them there or elsewhere? I don't really want to do them for some reason but the midwife is encouraging us to go...

Yeah I did my first one on Saturday and have my second one this Saturday. It's $250 and I'm getting $100 back from my insurance. I figured that I'd rather do them even if they are a waste of time then regret not doing them.
I'm enjoying them, even though I do already know a lot of the content. It's good just to clarify and ask questions. They show you around the birthing suite and explain all the equipment etc. not sure whats on the agenda yet for Saturday.

Great thanks -- please let me know how they are as you continue! I think I am quite resistant to being told what to do, and (despite being a teacher!) I can't stand when people ask stupid questions -- though it is of course very arrogant and presumptuous of me to assume the questions people ask will be stupid.

Let me know how yours is too NewMummy.

Kate -- how are you feeling?

They don't really 'tell' you what to do, more so explain why things are done etc. The midwives seem to be very cooperative, and the 'new age' type things seem to be standard procedure also like delayed cord clamping. I'm really happy with my decision to go to John Flynn and especially maneesh.
Yes, I will let you know what happens on Saturday.

Betty I did the classes at John Flynn and it cost me nothing my insurance covered the full cost and I thought it was definitely worth it, it helped me know what to expect no matter what type of birth I ended up having and I also learnt quite a few things :-)
