Default Can my son go to 2 kindergartens? Separated parents.

    Hi all,

To put this in the least confusing way, I am the mum of a beautiful 3 year old boy who ideally will be starting kindergarten next year. The thing is at the moment his dad and I have equal custody and he spends week on week off with each of us.
This has worked really well for us.
I am just about to move back to my home town, which is 2 hours from his dads town.
Ideally we would love to continue week on week off and I have heard whispers we may be able to duel kinder. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Being that kinder isn't compulsory, we could just not send him, but we don't really want to do that. It's not in his best interests it would be in ours.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks in advance

I think that's a terrible idea and would be very tough on your son.

Have you considered what you'll do when your son starts compulsory schooling? He can't attend two schools then.

I would be concerned about the lack of continuity between to two programs and how your son would adjust. He would miss out on things at both locations that the other kids are doing, which may make it difficult as the term progresses.

    I don't think that's a good idea either.

What a wonderful response to my question (insert sarcasm).. And thank you so much for making me feel like a sack of s**t! I asked for information, not opinions. You don't know the extent of our situation and you don't know what could/would be 'terrible' for my son. You have no idea what I have sacrificed for the sake of my sons happiness! NO IDEA!
Thanks for being one of those people. You just made a single mum trying her hardest to cope, feel WONDERFUL! (more sarcasm)

    Whoa!! Dude, settle down!

I AM also a single mum who has sacrificed a heap for her children. You're not alone there - sheesh!

And for the record, I am asking for INFORMATION, a year in advance, so I can then sit down and work out what would be best for our son.

I can't settle down. Bubhub used to be a place I could come for information. All ive been met with on this thread is a heap of opinions. I'm not a fool.
How would u feel if someone said the potential choice u were making for your child was terrible? It's not your place to say unless I ask "what do u think"...

And for the record, I'm telling you that I don't think it's a good idea. But at the end of the day, why should my opinion matter so much??!!!

Your son probably CAN attend two separate kindy's but I highly doubt it. It's something that you'll need to contact the department of education about I imagine, or the schools you're considering sending him to.

But I stand by my original question - have you considered what you'll do when he starts attending compulsory schooling?

You could probably do it, but you would have to pay for both.
