Default Should i get a dishwasher?

I have been brought up without a dishwasher and have no idea about them. Do you think its worth getting one and if so what sort of features should i look for? Any good brands you can suggest? Do they clean pots and pans well? Thanks in advance!

    No dishwasher?!! They are essential!!

Yes, most pots and pans can go in them - depending on the brand. I like the ones that have a cutlery drawer at the top, where you just sling in all your cutlery (as opposed to the traditional cutlery basket), as that saves you space inside.

I also like ones where you can adjust the height of the shelves depending on what you have in there.

We've just bought a new Samsung one that does both of those things. Bosch is good, but I found the Samsung identical in features and almost half the price.

I wouldn't bother with a million different wash cycles/ programmes, as most people tend to use the same cycle (maybe alternating between heavy and economy wash).

You could buy one and if you don't like it... I'll happily take it off you

But yes, always yes! Anything but a Bosch.

RUN, don't walk, to the shop. I have a Bosche and love it, but I agree with Girl X That the separate cutlery tray that some have is good. The basked doesn't take up too much room, but it can be a juggle to get things in if you have big dishes etc.

I don't do my pots in the,, but that's because they were getting calcium left in them. We've got scanpans so it might just be the pot as I'm not 100% sure they are supposed to go in there anyway! But I do everything else in there.

Oh my god, you're funny! Surely having a dishwasher or not isn't a question!
Personally, i'm happy with a dishwasher that does my dishes, cutlery and at least one chopping board. If i have to do my pots and pans, technology and i can compromise on that.
I would check Choice online for tests they've done?
