Congrats to all the new mummies!

What did u mean about short sheeting the cot instead of a bassinette? I was thinking of giving a bassinette a miss as I want baby to settle in its own room, but who knows time will tell when it gets here lol.

I have a q about baby monitors. I posted in product q's but no reply. I bought the angelcare movement monitor with two mats and two parent units (no video). I noticed baby bunting have the oricom babysense 2 with video on sale for $300 and wondered if I should get that instead. I have a single storey large house, I need a durable monitor that can come outside with me and is pretty tough. The angel care looks tough and has the two parent monitors where as the oricom only has the one and I'm worried about the screen malfunctioning, breaking etc. does anyone else recommend the video monitor or will the angelcare suit me just fine. Also are the sensor mats very different?

so I'm 13+4 today and already shopped up a storm god help me!!! Lol

Weaning off progesterone this week, very nervous as my OB says P4 levels aren't proven to be an indicator of viability therefore is not checking mine anymore.... I'm so frightened! I have been listening to our little heartbeat at work most days and such a relief each time!!

I hope you all stay well xx

    Hi all!
I hope you don't mind if I join your blog?
I have an IVF BFP due 25/10/13
It was really nice to read so many good stories!
Bindi - We have had the Angelcare for our DD for 2 1/2 years and have had no issues at all - a bit dissapointed that the large LED display shows the temp, but NO TIME - that def would have been handy, especially in the first few months.
Otherwise - awesome range ... we have a massive 3 storey home and it was fine, and in fact we used to go to our neighbours place for dinner and take it with us (we can see our house fully from their house!) - range around 100 m.

    Me & She = DD 2 1/2
2011 - IVF (QFG brisbane) OHSS 30 eggs , 2 FET = DD nil frosties
    2013 - IVF (QFG) 16 eggs, 2 FET, 1 BFP 11w 6 d, 1 (7w 6d) 2 frosties

Thank you girl range is important so I can put bub in the cottage next to our dressage arena and work the horses/muck around outside and still be confident in the monitor. A also have a 7ac garden that I spend a lot of time in so will really rely on it!

Bindy, we also had an Angel Care monitor with the movement pads for DD. I really liked it and it gave me a lot of peace of mind too.

We need a new one for this baby though because our house got struck by lightning, the Angel Care short circuited and hasn't worked properly since.

I'm considering a video one this time but if I have to choose between video and the movement pads I think I'd choose the pads.

Oricom have the babysense 2 with the s700 video monitors (2 movement pads, a baby monitor, a parent monitor with video screen and a camera) for $300 save about $60 on sale at baby bunting ATM. That is the one I was wondering if I should have gotten.

Hi Bindy111 Short sheeting is an old school trick of folding a sheet so that baby lays on half and is tucked in with the remaining length so baby can not wiggle down the cot making half the cot not in use. You still need to pad around the top for wiggling upwards though. It makes the area baby uses smaller.

Mum text me this morning and she has bought a cradle for baby , she has warmed up to being a nan again so well Happy Happy

As for monitors, all I ever used was a sound monitor which detects sound like a walkie talkie. I have never heard of pads and video monitors before for baby. I must do some research I think. A lot of things I used 18, 16, 14, 13 years ago is out dated.
