YAY!!! Another night of bring shatteringly tired but unable to sleep thanks to reflux.
    *sigh*
And I'm really sick of people saying "It'll be worse when bub is here". A) I've done this before, remember? And b) Yeah only it'll be crying waking me up rather than being a half centimeter from cracked ribs if I even GET to sleep. Thanks for the concern though .

Eko have u spoken to ur ob or gp about the reflux? I had it really badly with DD, felt like I was breathing fire so was prescribed something.. Helped heaps but can't remember what it was. Might be worth enquiring about so u can get some sleep?

That's not good Eko. Some people are so helpful, not. I agree with waiting, if you haven't already done so, speak to your doc and see if they can give you anything

Reflex sucks. Hope you can get something for it. I also hate people telling me things get worse. I have that when I say something hurts its normally along the lines of "you haven't given birth yet"
I understand that labour will hurt more but please I am living in my little bubble and ignoring the fact I need to go through that for a few more weeks haha.

Thanks ladies *chuckle*. Such a 'woe is me' moment! I got to sleep eventually, although after eating breakfast this morning I have a throat full of acid again but at least I'm not trying to sleep through it.
Definitely a drama moment. But then again with how little sleep I'd had it's not suprising lol.

I haven't talked to my Ob yet but I'm thinking I will. I guess I just kind of put it into one of those things you have to put up with while UTD category. Bit silly really, there's no reason to put up with it. Bit silly of me! I'll ask him about it when I go in next week .

Hello! Well I’ve been MIA the last few days as DH has hurt his back at work lifting logs and is laid up at home. So i’ve been doing everything (child care pick-ups & drop offs/cleaning/cooking/DS bedtime/working full time too!). Sorry for the moan, I know some people do this day in day out on their own. But we usually share it all so it’s a lot for me all at once. Hats off to single parents!

The GP has given hubby valium to relax his back muscles and he is also taking voltaren for the pain. But he can barely move. Have to take him back on Monday for a review so he’s off work at least until then. He feels guilty and actually cried because he felt so useless not being able to help me, bless him. But it’s not his fault of course.

To make matters worse, DS has been a nightmare going to bed the last few nights. The first week of being in a toddler bed he was great! Then suddenly for no apparent reason he started screaming when I put him into bed, having been fine for the whole bedtime routine. Last night he went on for TWO HOURS before falling asleep!!!! And I’m the only one who can keep going in to him with hubby laid up. Then he woke in the night for a long time too. So I am shattered today. Don’t know what’s up with him, seems to be a bout of separation anxiety as he wants to be in bed with me but I don’t want to start that and not be able to get him out of it! So I’m a bit desperate for sleep at the moment. Tempted to get some phenergen and knock him out tonight to guarantee sleep for us all! lol

So the last week has passed quickly and I’ve almost forgotten I’m pregnant! 18 weeks tomorrow, morph scan in 2 weeks! Hoping to have confirmation of a pink bundle!

Fel- sorry to hear about your blood pressure, rest up hun!

Waitinghoping- tiredness in early pregnancy sucks! I was really bad this time, and it’s so much worse when you already have one to look after like you say!

Eko- reflux, eurrgghh. It’s horrid, feel bad for you hun. And yeah I get what you’re saying about people reminding you how tired you’ll be anyway when bub comes. You know already! Hope you can get some treatment and have a good rest.

Mickey- hope all is good with bub and she’s just a petite baby. It’s great you trust your ob.

Hi to everyone else, sorry have only read back the last couple of days!

Eko, you can get ranitidine 300mg tablets from your Pharmacy, and Somac 20mg tablets also from Pharmacy. Take them both daily. They are safe in pregnancy. Somac in particular is very effective, and suppresses acid production in the stomach quite quickly. That's my advice. Plus the normal guff (sleep propped up if you can, Mylanta as often as you need, milk, etc). But Somac plus ranitidine is your best bet, though.

    Ummm...feeling like a porn star......

My boobs! After Dd I went Up in size a little, this time a different story!!! And I'm leaking this time, could it get more glamorous!

Also as a warning for those who are having their 2nd baby... I didn't realise the impact on Dd. I guess it's different for me as I'm in & out of the hospital, but WOW what a shift in behavior, she's being so naughty! Really trying to get my attention, even done a couple of dangerous things

Arg! Finally got to sleep after about an hour of laying in bed staring at the roof and ds woke me up.
Of course I now have savage reflux (to the point where I'm struggling not to vomit) and there's no way I'm getting back to sleep for a long time.
Why oh why could he not wake dh instead? Lol. Definitely going to the pharmacy for those tablets tomorrow!
