Dr Cattanach wasn't cheap, he was $3k. However saying that he didn't charge me for D&C.

Also my next op with this bub (suspected ectopic) we only ended up paying $150 which I think is cheap for a Sunday night he came in and wasn't even on call. He would have been there at least 4 hours.

We pay fees early so we slip over the Medicare threshold and start getting more back on scans and visits.

May i ask what is was about the wesley you hated? I am due to give birth there this week and I didnt enjoy my tour of the hospital as the midwife that showed us around was not very friendly.

I don't have personal experience but if you do a search on bubhub you'll see a few reviews.

My OB is Glenda McLaren, with River City Ob's at the Mater. She's amazing, but $2750 in Preg Mgt fees.
My first birth she wasn't on, but Brenda Biggs was there after my birth to do stitches, etc. I felt that she was very cold towards me. She missed my birth, but I'm glad! I feel that she handled me really rough, compared to the lovely midwife and trainee that I got who delivered my baby.

I found the midwives not helpful at all. My baby was a very unsettled bub and I struggled to bf, basically the gave me a brochure and DVD and said this is how you breatfeed. When it came to to bathing him I asked over and over again if I could have some help at some stage( just had cs) and they basically told me they were to busy. Ds also hadnt pee'd in 12 hours because of my low supply and no one gave a ****!! Very disappointed

That is really disappointing. The people I know who have gone to the Wesley have loved it, and recent renovations are meant to be superb. I have only heard bad things about Mater Private, funnily enough your midwife story above is almost exactly what my friend experienced with her first baby at the Mater after a csection.
I did not birth at either of these hospitals, these are just opinions from close friends who have.
Personally I think midwives are just run off their feet these days, particularly at the Mater as it is a big baby factory without the staff to support it.
Are you having a repeat csection?

Look I do understand that the midwives may have been run off their feet but I just felt there whole attitude toward me was terrible. I'm hoping for a VBAC this time but my ob has already told me he wasn't comfortable with it.

Wow, really disappointing to hear that some of the midwives are not supportive. I had my firdt bub at Selangor Private (it has closed now) and the midwives were amazing. They would often sit with you for the whole time you breastfed p and offer advice. I will try not to compare the two experiences. Thanks ladies for your honesty.

If you want a vbac and you believe there is no reason for not having one, you need to find a new Ob now. Have you considered north west private?
