Default North of Melbourne maternity hospitals, Northern Epping

    Hi,

I am 30 weeks pregnant and due to being unable to have my baby at my local hospital due to being deemed higher risk, I am now having to consider where to go for the birth.

My doctor referred me to Mercy Hospital but I was basically instantly rejected due to living out of their area.

My options now include Northern at Epping but I keep reading such mixed reviews it makes me a bit worried.

    Has anyone recently birthed there?

    Thanks

Hi! I've also heard some bad things about Epping but a friend of mine had her bub there 3 months ago and said it was great. She had her first at Mercy and she said they were as good as each other. I've heard Mercy is amazing though, I will try and go there for our second I think good luck!!

Ps apart from Northern do you have any other options? Are you going public?

My two sisters both birthed at the Northern and hated it... they found a lot of the staff rude, one sister wanted to leave hours after giving birth to her first because of the care she was given. My other sister spent from 11am when she gave birth until 8pm in her birthing suite as they didn't have her room ready.

I gave birth late 2012 at Frances Perry House and loved my midwives and the care I was given.
