The process of proving paternity when he refuses to sign the birth certificate I think it is a blood test and expensive

    Default Child support question

If you pay for it and paternity is proven then I believe that he is liable for costs.

My DS's FOB isn't on the birth certificate and refused to be as he thought he would get out of paying. I didn't need to go as far as the courts. We were living together in a defacto relationship for a long period of time. This was enough for CSA to accept my claim. There are circumstances where they will accept your claim without having to go to court. Speak to CSA ASAP, make the claim and go from there.

This is what i was told by legal aid too. Just as if i had of denied paternity and it had of come back FOBs was infact the father, then i would have been liable for the cost of the test.

I've just heard from him and he wants the papers ASAP. Here's hoping he'll sign them without fuss so we can get on with the process!!
