Default Glee.....Someone Explain How Its Loved.

I just dont get Glee. It came across as being marketed as some wholesome show about a bunch of school kids singing....then next thing I see on the ads is sl*tty cheerleaders and talk about sleeping with each other. Umm..what?? I know some peoples kids love it too.....do the kids notice the sexual undertones? (though Im not sure how a cheerleader wearing a sexy outfit and seductively holding a teddy bear would be missed)

Whenever I see an ad for it I wonder how its still on the air. Who the hell watches it?....and whyyyyyyy??

Can someone explain to me what is soo good about it that they watch it...please

There is nothing good about it.
Agree with everything you said. And is it just me, or can not many of them sing?

I like it because it *isn't* a wholesome teen show, but is closer to being realistic. It shows the outcasts (gay kids, goths, nerds etc) in a good light. I also like the music, corny as it may be. It's not the best show ever, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit of light hearted fun.

This This is going to sound strange but Its something that helped me through my mc while it was happening. I sat there watching Glee and eating Maccas and although it was such an emotional time it was just something that stopped me from going over the edge for those first few days of miscarrying. I quite like the music....some of it I dont so I fast forward but I also think a few of them have amazing voices!

Agreed - it's makes me giggle and I cry a lot too. Plus any show that features music by The Beatles, the Stones, REM, Barbra etc is fine by me...Oh and SUE! "It's a Britney Spears SEX RIOT!!"

I'd say it's more kitsch rather than tacky but yeah it's a stylised show. It's OTT but that's not it's crux. Ooh thought of other reasons I'm a fan, several Buffy writers/producers/directors have been involved and my number one guy Joss Whedon directed an ep.

I get the impression that it is supposed to be fruity and tacky- the whole traditional musical movie like those from the 50's or so- while dealing with the "real" issues, homosexuality, bullying, teen pregnancy etc.

I actually rather eenjoyed the first series, I thought they got the mix right. Now it just seems too glitzy, and too tacky. And this is coming from a lady who loves a good show tune!

As much as I love Glee I have to agree with you there. The first and second season were awesome but I dont really enjoy it now...far too glitzy and out there even for Glee!
