I have issues with the number of zombies who have been bitten and turned, but weren't completely ripped to pieces. We've seen what the zombies do to a body, why are there so many that are more or less intact?

Which bit? (As opposed to the entire "zombie" premise?!)

Agreed re infection, if the zombies are so riddled that a bite will kill you, then surely all the gore being sprayed around would get you too.

I also have an issue with their eyes, the fact that they can see.

The writers have said they decompose at a slower rate than normal humans. But even so, given the state of the rest of their bodies you'd think their eyes would be long gone.

This is from one of the writers:

... in Issue 95 of the comic. Robert says, "Any non zombie corpses you saw on the highway either suffered severe brain trauma in a car crash that resulted in that pileup, or had another brain damaging event that killed them. They could have even been zombies in the car for awhile -- until someone came along and killed them."

Yes this is what I was meaning, why are they all walking around with one minor injury - you would think the zombies would have polished them off.

Here you go, I'm not crazy!

"Everyone on the planet within the Walking Dead universe somehow contracts a mysterious virus that, for reasons unknown, brings the dead back to life. It is unknown how the virus is spread, but it is likely airborne given the fact that everyone seems to be infected. It doesn't appear that anyone is immune to the virus, or that any type of antivirus exists. According to Dr. Edwin Jenner, known attempts to create a cure have thusfar failed."

Jumping in! But isn't everyone already infected? So it wouldn't matter how much they got sprayed. But yeah, somehow the bite kills. Confused.

I have been rewatching the series with my brother, and it is amazing how much the characters have changed and developed since the first season. It is interesting how in the beginning they were all so optimistic, but now it is like the living are the "Walking Dead" so to speak. Re the backpacker, funny how morals made Rick go back to rescue Merle in season 1, but he would leave a backpacker to die like that. How much their experiences have changed them!

The latest episode was intense! It isnt even about the zombies anymore!
